Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied’s 11-year marriage has ended. They finalized their divorce in France, where they live with their children, Aleph and Amalia.
The couple met on “Black Swan” (2010), where Millepied choreographed and Portman won an Oscar.
They married in 2012 in a Jewish ceremony at a private home near Big Sur, California.
Reports surfaced in May 2023 of Millepied’s extramarital affair, said to contribute to their separation.
Sources say the affair wasn’t the sole cause of the split; the couple faced long-standing issues. An insider mentioned the lost spark and highlighted the affair as pivotal, which Portman found hard to forgive.
Despite the challenges, Portman and Millepied attempted to work through their problems for the sake of their children.
Millepied tried to regain Portman’s trust by sharing his passwords and meeting her conditions.
Portman’s year featured a Golden Globe nomination, a part in Ritchie’s “Fountain of Youth,” and the Apple TV+ series “Lady in the Lake.”
Millepied remains active in the arts, contributing to “Dune: Part Two” and directing the musical “Carmen.”
The couple keeps their personal life discreet, prioritizing co-parenting and their children’s smooth transition.
