Lady Gaga condemned the transphobic backlash after posting with Dylan Mulvaney on International Women’s Day. Meant to celebrate, the post drew negative, transphobic comments, leading Gaga to respond directly.

On Instagram, where she boasts over 56 million followers, Gaga expressed her dismay at the hateful responses the post received.

Gaga found it appalling that her and Dylan Mulvaney’s National Women’s Day post faced vitriol and hatred. She stressed these reactions were not just backlash but outright hatred.

Gaga’s March 11 post responded to criticism from her March 8 International Women’s Day post with Mulvaney. Despite its positive intent, it received over 3,600 comments, many misgendering Mulvaney and expressing transphobia.

The Grammy- and Oscar-winning artist emphasized the struggle for transgender acceptance and respect. She expressed a protective stance towards Mulvaney and the entire trans community. “I feel very protective of Dylan and the trans community, who inspire despite facing degradation and violence,” Gaga said.

Mulvaney, 27, is a trans advocate, actress, and social media star known for raising transgender awareness. She became nationally recognized for her “Days of Girlhood” TikTok videos, attracting over 10 million followers.

Despite a viral right-wing hate campaign from her Bud Light partnership, Mulvaney steadfastly supports transgender rights and visibility.

Lady Gaga urges all women to unite for International Women’s Day, advocating for equal celebration of all women, regardless of gender identity.

Her message resonates with a broader call for peace, dignity, and acceptance for people of all gender identities and races.

The singer’s defense of Mulvaney and the trans community highlights her commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and zero tolerance for hatred and discrimination.

As the conversation around transgender rights continues to evolve, Gaga’s voice remains a powerful force for inclusivity and understanding.
