In the latest twist of their legal battle, Kelly Clarkson has filed another lawsuit against her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson is taking legal action against Blackstock, alleging that he acted as an unlicensed talent agent during their marriage.

The dispute centers on Blackstock making deals for Clarkson without a talent agency license. He must return over $2.6 million for unlawfully managing deals meant for Clarkson’s CAA agents.

The contested deals involve Clarkson’s role on “The Voice,” partnerships with Norwegian Cruise Lines and Wayfair, and hosting the Billboard Music Awards. Blackstock’s work on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” was cleared, but the other deals breached the TAA.

A series of legal battles, including disputes over spousal support, custody of their children, and ownership of their Montana ranch, have marked Clarkson and Blackstock’s divorce. The couple, who married in 2013 and share two children, finalized their divorce in March 2022.

Blackstock’s legal team has filed to appeal the labor commissioner’s ruling and has also requested a new trial. As of now, neither Blackstock nor Clarkson has publicly commented on the new lawsuit.

This second lawsuit underscores the complexities of the entertainment industry’s legal framework and the importance of adhering to the regulations governing talent representation. It also highlights the personal and professional entanglements that can arise when business and personal relationships intersect.

Kelly Clarkson, open about her divorce’s emotional impact, moved to New York City. She continues hosting “The Kelly Clarkson Show” at NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza studios.
