Heartbreaking news of Jesse Baird’s murder by Luke Davies, as Sarah Harris mourns the loss.

SYDNEY – In the midst of preparations for Sydney’s annual Mardi Gras festival, which celebrates LGBTQ+ rights and culture, the mood is sour this year.

Just hours after British pop singer Sophie Ellis Bextor wowed thousands at Bondi Beach, New South Wales police returned to the home of television presenter Jesse Baird in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Baird’s ex-partner, police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon, allegedly murdered Baird and his partner Luke Davies.

Large amounts of blood were found in the house of the former Studio 10 presenter.

Last week, Baird and his friend, Davies, were reported missing. On Monday, shots were reportedly fired at the Paddington property and the defendant is believed to have rented a white van from Sydney Airport the same night.

The couple’s bloody clothes were found in a rubbish bin in Cronulla, a beach suburb 40 minutes from Paddington.

Lamarre-Condon surrendered to police on Friday and was subsequently charged with two counts of murder. The bodies have not been found.

Sarah Harris, a Channel 10 star and former colleague of Baird’s at the now defunct Studio 10, shared her grief with Australian viewers on Sunday night’s news program The Project.

With tears streaming down her face and her voice shaking, Harris apologized to viewers. She said, 'It's hard to talk about Jesse in the past because Jesse, and I speak on behalf of everyone here in the studio, in the newsroom and at Studio 10, was more than a colleague. He was our friend, our little brother, and one of those people who not only lit up the screen but also lit up a room.'
