David De Jesus Contreras, 52, confessed to shooting his son just weeks before Thanksgiving in a tragic case in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
After the attack, Contreras was caught on surveillance video talking to his wife outside a home just before he was arrested. When his wife anxiously asked if their son Eric was still breathing, Contreras emotionally replied, “He’s not breathing.
He is dead. The argument on the way home was unbearable. It is not your fault. Please call my brother.”
David Contreras appeared before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Daryl Trawick at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building in Allapattah last November for his arraignment. He pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder charge.

The father was arrested and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was being held without bond.
The district attorney filed charges against him on Nov. 5. November against him. David De Jesus Contreras appeared in court for an Arthur hearing, a procedure that considers the possibility of bail for defendants accused of serious crimes.
A judge ruled that he would be held without bail until his next court appearance. His next hearing is scheduled for March 11. March.
