The tragic death of a 12-year-old boy in Wisconsin has led to the arrest of his father.
After a four-month-long search, Milwaukee police apprehended Romuan Jovaes Moye, 45, the father of a 12-year-old boy from Wisconsin whose body they discovered decomposed and malnourished in their home.
The police took Moye into custody on Sunday. They found the body of his son, Jacarie Robinson, on October 10, 2023, in a residence located at 4160 N. Elmhurst Road, following a report of a death there.
Someone found the boy wrapped in a blanket on the living room floor. His body showed signs of severe malnutrition and decomposition, with maggots observed in the facial area. An autopsy revealed fractures in both arms and the right ribs of Jacarie.
After authorities initially charged him in connection with his son’s death, Moye, who had been evading capture since October, now faces multiple serious charges, including first-degree reckless homicide, triple chronic neglect of a child, and failure to report the death of a child.
If a court convicts him, he could be sentenced to up to 82 years in prison and fined $45,000.
Authorities are treating the investigation into Jacarie Robinson’s death as a homicide, and they are still determining the exact cause of death. They are awaiting results from toxicology, histology, and further examinations.
