Violence and chaos marred Six Flags Over Georgia’s opening day due to teenagers fighting, leading to a deadly police shooting.

About 500 to 600 youths caused a disturbance at Six Flags, leading to a massive brawl and panic among guests.

The disorderly crowd overwhelmed the security personnel at the theme park, who then called for police assistance.

Officers followed the group out of the park to a service road, where the situation turned tragic.

Someone fired gunshots at the police, who returned fire and killed one individual.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken charge of the investigation into the shooting.

Preliminary reports indicate that someone fired multiple shots, which hit an unoccupied police vehicle.

A Cobb County officer shot a 15-year-old boy during a pursuit, leaving him critically injured at Grady Hospital.

Six Flags Over Georgia has expressed disappointment over the disruption caused by groups of underage youth at public events.

The park stressed its safety commitment, using advanced security, metal detection, and a strict guest code of conduct.

The park officials clarified that the shooting occurred on South Service Road, which Six Flags does not own or operate.

The incident has raised concerns about public safety at large events and the involvement of underage individuals in such disturbances.

The GBI is investigating and will submit findings to the Cobb County District Attorney for review.
