Tyler Boebert, the 18-year-old son of U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert, faced arrest in Rifle, Colorado, on Tuesday afternoon for his alleged involvement in a series of thefts.
The arrest, which took place around 2:30 p.m., resulted in Tyler facing a total of 22 charges, including five felonies.
Authorities accuse Tyler of four felony counts of possessing multiple victims’ identification documents and conspiring to commit a felony. Under Colorado law, these actions could lead to a 12 to 18-month prison sentence and fines up to $100,000.
In addition to the felonies, Tyler also faces over 15 misdemeanor and petty offenses. These include first-degree criminal trespassing of an automobile with intent to commit a crime, identity theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and theft of less than $300.
This isn’t Tyler’s first brush with the law. In 2022, he received a “careless driving causing bodily injury” ticket following a car accident. Despite the plea deal reducing the case to a “defective vehicle for headlights” ticket, Tyler failed to appear in court as required.

The Boebert family has encountered legal troubles before. In January 2024, Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, faced arrest on assault charges after an altercation with Tyler. Earlier this month, Lauren Boebert was granted a restraining order against Jayson.
